Who was St. Patrick?
St. Patrick the patron saint of Ireland is one of Christianity
most widely known figures. But for all his celebrity, his life remains somewhat
of a mystery. According to the Confession of Patrick, when he was about 16, he
was captured by Irish pirates from his home in Britain and taken as a slave to
Ireland where he lived for 6 years before escaping and returning to his family.

St. Patrick’s Day celebrates the Roman Catholic feast day of
the patron saint of Ireland. St. Patrick died on March 17, 461 but did you know
he wasn't even Irish.
